This expedition focuses on the geomorphology of the Karighatta hill systems, geological observations along the new Bangalore–Mysore Highway rock cuttings, quarry studies, and a visit to a lithium exploration site at Maralagala associated with the Atomic Minerals Directorate for Exploration and Research.
Participants will study terrain evolution, rock formations, weathering processes, structural geology, and the growing importance of lithium-bearing minerals in future energy technologies.
